Modern Slavery Statement
Man with Van Kilburn Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps taken by Man with Van Kilburn to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our operations and supply chains. We are committed to conducting business in a responsible, ethical, and transparent manner and to ensuring that the people who work with and for us are treated with dignity and respect.
Modern slavery is a serious crime and a fundamental violation of human rights. It can include slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour, and human trafficking. Man with Van Kilburn recognises that even smaller organisations can be exposed to these risks and we are dedicated to identifying, preventing, and addressing them wherever they may arise.
Zero-Tolerance Policy on Modern Slavery
Man with Van Kilburn operates a clear zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery and human trafficking. We will not knowingly engage with any individual, contractor, or supplier involved in such practices. Our expectations are communicated internally to our team members and externally to our business partners and suppliers.
All staff are required to act in line with our values and uphold this policy in their daily work. Any action or omission that is inconsistent with this commitment will be treated seriously and may result in disciplinary action or termination of business relationships.
Our Operations and Supply Chain
Our core services involve domestic and commercial removals, transportation, and related logistics. While our operational footprint is relatively local and our supply chain is straightforward, we recognise there may still be risks, particularly in relation to temporary labour, vehicle hire, fuel, equipment, and other third-party services.
We seek to work only with reputable suppliers who share our commitment to ethical conduct, fair pay, and safe working conditions. We expect all of our business partners to observe applicable employment, labour, and human rights laws and to demonstrate active efforts to prevent modern slavery in their own operations and supply chains.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
Man with Van Kilburn undertakes proportionate due diligence when engaging new suppliers and when reviewing ongoing relationships. This may include verifying corporate information, reviewing publicly available records, and requesting confirmation of their own policies relating to modern slavery and human rights.
Where we identify higher-risk categories of goods or services, we may carry out more detailed checks. We reserve the right to conduct or commission supplier audits, either remotely or on-site where practical, to assess working conditions, recruitment practices, and compliance with our zero-tolerance stance.
If a supplier is found to be involved in, or turning a blind eye to, modern slavery, we will take appropriate steps, which may include requiring corrective action, suspending orders, or terminating the relationship altogether.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing
We encourage anyone connected with Man with Van Kilburn, including employees, agency workers, contractors, and suppliers, to report any concerns or suspicions of modern slavery as soon as they arise. Concerns can be raised through internal management channels or via any existing grievance or whistleblowing mechanisms operated by the relevant employer.
No person will be penalised for raising a genuine concern in good faith, even if it turns out to be unfounded. We will treat all reports sensitively and, where appropriate, confidentially. Any allegations will be investigated promptly and thoroughly, and suitable action will be taken where issues are identified.
Training and Awareness
To support our zero-tolerance approach, we aim to raise awareness of modern slavery risks among our staff and management. This may include providing guidance on recognising warning signs, understanding recruitment and labour exploitation risks, and knowing how to escalate concerns appropriately.
We will continue to look for ways to strengthen awareness and understanding as legislation, guidance, and best practice evolve.
Monitoring, Governance, and Annual Review
Responsibility for overseeing this Modern Slavery Statement and related measures rests with the senior management of Man with Van Kilburn. They are responsible for ensuring that our commitments are embedded into our day-to-day operations and that any identified risks are addressed in a timely manner.
This statement and our associated practices will be reviewed at least once every year, or more frequently if there are significant changes to our business, supply chains, or relevant legislation. The annual review process considers any incidents reported, audit findings, feedback from staff and suppliers, and developments in best practice. Where necessary, we will update our policies and procedures to strengthen our controls and improve our response.
Man with Van Kilburn is committed to continuous improvement in preventing modern slavery and human trafficking. By working collaboratively with our staff, suppliers, and other stakeholders, we aim to maintain an environment where exploitation is neither tolerated nor ignored and where everyone is treated fairly and lawfully.
